We are SO excited to partner with BDI Playhouse to sponsor participants in their 3rd annual ADAPTIVE DUATHLON!

 

Loving Luca Foundation is committed to sponsoring 5 racers and BDI is offering one scholarship to cover the entry fee! That's a total of SIX racers that can enter with no fee to show off their skills and earn their medal!

 

The 2025 I Can Du It! Adaptive Duathlon is a fun and inclusive event that celebrates the strength and determination of athletes of all abilities! What is an adaptive duathlon? This is a race that allows participants to compete in an outdoor, modified running-biking-running event. Racers will use their own assistive devices (walkers, crutches, etc.), adapted bikes, wheelchairs, bikes with training wheels, two-wheel bikes, etc. to complete the course. We welcome racers aged 4-30 years old, with a range of disabilities and special needs. Racers of all abilities are invited join the action!

Each racer gets a volunteer buddy or brings their own buddy who walks and runs alongside them throughout the race, cheering them on, counting laps, providing assistance, ensuring safety, and making sure the fun never stops. When you register, you may choose to bring your own buddy (parent, caregiver, neighbor, sitter, etc.) or you may choose to have an assigned volunteer assist and support your racer.

Each participant will receive a newly designed race t-shirt and race medal, as well as their recorded time, for completing the race. Post-race snacks and hydration stations will be provided to fuel the athletes and spectators. Race T-shirt purchase is also open to families! Purchase shirts for the whole family to wear while cheering on your racers.

Plan to stay after your race to hangout at an awesome adaptive playground, have some snacks, and enjoy our Live DJ! We can't wait to party with you!
